The gorse looks a bit like Scotch Broom here in the Pacific Northwest USA, I wonder if they are related?

Definately a dandelion. We have capeweed here, the paddocks are yellow which is pretty but its a terrible weed.
your daffy must be the last just hanging on kate !
And not capeweed thank goodness, but yes a daisy and maybe a dandelion - been too long since i did weed I.D. ;)
Yellow is such a herald of spring.
